READING: 2 Samuel 5:11-6:23, 1 Chronicles 13-16
TEXTS AND APPLICATION: These texts essentially repeat each other, though David’s psalm of thanksgiving in 1 Chron. 16 is unique. Within that psalm is again the echo of God’s heart for the nations:
16:8 Give thanks to Yahweh; call on His name; proclaim His deeds among the peoples.
16:14 He is the Lord our God; His judgments govern the whole earth.
16:23-24 Sing to the Lord, all the earth. Proclaim His salvation from day to day. Declare His glory among the nations, His wonderful works among all peoples.
16:28 Ascribe to the Lord, families of the peoples, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.
16:30a tremble before Him, all the earth.
16:31 Let the heavens be glad and the earth rejoice, and let them say among the nations, “The Lord is King!”
PRAYER: Pray that God will use Pam and me however He wishes so the nations will know of His glory.
