READING:  Psalms 111-118

TEXTS AND APPLICATION:  Today’s scripture readings resound with reasons to praise the Lord. In the busyness of this day, take time to meditate on these reasons . . . and honor Him who is worthy of all praise.

1.  He is the almighty One.

Psalm 111:2-3a  The Lord’s works are great, studied by all who delight in them. All that He does is splendid and majestic . .

Psalm 113:5-8  Who is like Yahweh our God—the One enthroned on high, who stoops down to look on the heavens and the earthHe raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the garbage pile in order to seat them with nobles— with the nobles of His people.

Psalm 116:5-6  The Lord is gracious and righteous; our God is compassionate. . . . I was helpless, and He saved me.

3.  He is almighty, compassionate, and faithful to His Word and His people.

Psalm 115:1  Not to us, Yahweh, not to us, but to Your name give glory because of Your faithful love, because of Your truth.

PRAYER: All we can do is praise the Lord (Psa. 111:1,113:1-3, 115:18 ) and give thanks to Him (Psalm 116:17, 117:1, 118:1, 118:28-29).  Take time now to do both.  He really is worthy.
