A Simple Challenge for TODAY in the Midst of COVID-19 Busyness

Many of us have been busy with Zoom meetings, phone calls, texts, and emails. In some ways, it seems we’ve all been busier even when we’re quarantined in our homes. Now, states are opening up again. Some churches are gathering again. Some workers are returning to their place of service. Life might be even more chaotic for a while.

TODAY, though, I challenge you to find a few minutes in the midst of busyness, get alone with God, and pray this prayer: pray for two non-believers by name, asking God to free them from the devil’s bondage (Col 1:13, 2 Tim 2:25-26). Pray God would remove any blinders from their darkened minds (2 Cor 4:3-4). Pray they might hear the gospel this weekend, even if they just “happen” to drop by an online service. Ask the Father to give you opportunity to speak the gospel to them (Col 4:2-4).

It’s just a few minutes of prayer . . . . but, it’s a few minutes focused on somebody else.

It’s a few minutes directed toward eternity in a world that is daily talking about death.

It’s a few minutes that can change somebody’s life.

Would you accept this challenge with me? Would you take time to pray now?

If you’re comfortable doing so, list your two in the comments section of this post, and we’ll pray for them, too. Feel free to use initials, nicknames, or generic wording if you’re concerned about putting names in print.

It will take just a few minutes of your time . . .
