———
He had been living among the tombs for some time. His heart was surely chaotic, his having a multitude of powerful demons in him.
She had had a blood disease for twelve years, and she had already spent all her money on many doctors who could offer her no healing. Her life must have been despair.
His name was Jairus, and his only daughter was dying. Though the text doesn’t give us this detail, surely he did for his daughter what the woman had done for herself: he spent all of his money going to as many doctors as needed in an attempt to bring healing to her. That’s just what daddies do for their children.
Three desperate people. Three hurting people. Three people in need of hope and healing. And, they all found those things in a personal encounter with Jesus Christ, the Son of God. He brought healing to their hopelessness and calm to their chaos.
He still does that today, you know.
PERSONAL REFLECTION: Do you need to find hope and healing in Jesus today?
PRAYER: “Lord, Jesus, You are the giver of peace. I praise You today.”
