Today, many of us will return to work. The festivities of the past few days have now ended. Christmas trees are about to come down, and decorations will go back to their storage bins. Garbage cans are filled with wrapping paper, and, frankly, some of the “stuff” we received yesterday will eventually wind up there as well. All will return to normal quite quickly.
But, the world has not been the same since the first Christmas. Nothing has returned to normal since God came to dwell among us. No matter what we face in the days and year to come, all is under the sovereign control of God who will ultimately come again.
The baby’s coming and the King’s return won’t allow us to return to normal. Everything’s changed because of the gospel.
