As I read a book, I note on the inside cover any significant statements that catch my attention – and this blog is a compilation of some of those “inside cover” quotes about leadership. My including these quotes is by no means a validation of all of these books, but I hope the quotes themselves challenge you.

I generally appreciate shorter quotes, because they are less complicated. So my two favorites are #11, and #16, in that order.
Selfish people are not following Christ. He epitomizes the selfless leader! By definition, of course. But taking that into any area of leadership, even in the secular world, I think will guarantee loyalty among the ranks.
And pretending as an exercise, as thought experiment, may be a valuable tool to help train, and drive a group towards a goal, but it isn’t a proper method of operation. As such, it actually is evidence that something is wrong, and the leader isn’t dealing with it.

I am drawn #14. Doing the right with support is a wonderful thing, but one must have the inner resources to do what is right also. There will be times when he/she will have to go in alone. Sometimes those who support us mean well but don’t always have the mind of Christ.
