The psalmist wrestled at times with trusting God, but his faith in God also echoed throughout his writings. If you’re struggling today, turn to God—and hang on to these words from the first half of the book of Psalms:
- Psalm 3:4– “I cry aloud to the Lord, and he answers me from his holy mountain.”
- Psalm 5:3– “In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I plead my case to you and watch expectantly.”
- Psalm 6:9– “The Lord has heard my plea for help; the Lord accepts my prayer.”
- Psalm 18:6– “I called to the Lord in my distress, and I cried to my God for help. From his temple he heard my voice, and my cry to him reached his ears.”
- Psalm 28:6– “Blessed be the Lord, for he has heard the sound of my pleading.”
- Psalm 30:2– “Lord my God, I cried to you for help, and you healed me.”
- Psalm 32:5– “Then I acknowledged my sin to you and did not conceal my iniquity. I said, ‘I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,’ and you forgave the guilt of my sin.”
- Psalm 34:4– “I sought the Lord, and he answered me and rescued me from all my fears.”
- Psalm 40:1– “I waited patiently for the Lord, and he turned to me and heard my cry for help.”
- Psalm 66:19– “However, God has listened; he has paid attention to the sound of my prayer.”
Read through these verses again, and spend time with the Lord in prayer!
