READING: Joshua 18-19, Luke 8:40-9:6
It’s another one of those verses that you sometimes skim over—but when you really pause to read it, it’s packed with power. And, sometimes it’s the simplest verse that grabs your attention that way.
In today’s Old Testament reading, Joshua records that the Lord gave to His people all the land He had once promised them, and He also gave them rest from their enemies. Then, the last verse of Joshua 21 says, “None of the good promises the Lord had made to the house of Israel failed. Everything was fulfilled” (Josh 21:45)—and that’s the verse that gives me great confidence today.
God kept His promises to His people. All of them. Not a one did He not fulfill.
He may have done it in unexpected ways and in unexpected times, but He kept His Word. All of it.
He still does the same today. So, I live without fear today because I know His Word that He will never leave us or abandon us (Heb 13:5). His promise and presence are all I need.
PRAYER: “God, thank You for always keeping Your promises. I love You.”
