READING: Psalm 140-145, 1 Corinthians 15:29-49
Psalm 145 is a psalm of praise that simply echoes with God’s magnificence. The words that describe His acts resound with His glory: “his greatness,” “your mighty acts,” “your splendor and glorious majesty,” “your wondrous works,” “your awe-inspiring acts,” “your great goodness,” “your righteousness,” “the glory of your kingdom” (Psa 145:4-11). His eternality is evident in the phrases, “forever and ever” [will ring out the psalmist’s praise], “everlasting kingdom,” and “all generations” (Psa 145:1, 13). His goodness comes across in His graciousness, compassion, and faithful love (Psa 145:8).
He is “near all who call out to him,” and “he hears their cry for help and saves them” (Psa 145:18-19). It’s no wonder, then, that the psalmist ends this song with, “My mouth will declare the Lord’s praise; let every living thing bless his holy name forever and ever” (Psa 145:21). He will sing God’s praise, and he wants all creation to join him in the chorus. May God help all of us to praise the Lord today!
PRAYER: “God, I will praise You forever and ever.”
