“We should always be hanging out with non-Christian friends. We go to their things—their birthday parties, kids’ concerts, fundraisers, sports games. And if we do that consistently as their friends, it is only natural that they will come to our things—BBQ lunches, movies, Superbowl parties. If we happen to invite them to an outreach event, it’s just one of many other things that we do together. This feels normal because if it wasn’t the outreach event, we’d be doing something else together. And it doesn’t risk the friendship.”
