READING: Proverbs 6-7, Psalms 7, Romans 11
The mystery of God is so far beyond us that all we can do is kneel in wonder. Scholars have debated the topic for centuries, but we still cannot fully grasp God’s election process. How God has designed His plan to reach Jew and Gentile alike is difficult to consider. We struggle understanding His unfailing faithfulness and incredible grace. His ways are just not our ways.
What we do know, though, is that He is majestic and mighty. In some ways, our right response is simply to cry out with the words of the Apostle Paul in today’s reading: “Oh, the depth of the riches and the wisdom and the knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments and untraceable his ways!” (Rom 11:33). We cannot know His mind, and none of us can offer Him counseling. We have nothing on our own to give to Him. He alone deserves the praise, for all things are from Him, through Him, and to Him.
He is the source, the sustainer, and the goal of all things. To him be glory forever.
PRAYER: “To You alone be glory, God. You alone are worthy.”
