READING: 1 Kings 17-18, Psalm 119, Jude
Today’s one of those days when it’s best for me simply to let the Word of God speak. As Jude called his readers to address false teachers in the church, he ended his letter with a doxology that simply praises God:
“Now to him who is able to protect you from stumbling and to make you stand in the presence of his glory, without blemish and with great joy, to the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, power, and authority before all time, now and forever. Amen.” (vv. 24-25)
God protects us from falling. He cleanses us and allows us to be in His presence. He is the only God, the one who brings us great joy. He’s the ruler of creation, greater than all. He deserves our honor, now and forever.
The only God. Ruler of creation. Majestic and powerful. And yet, He loves us, lives within us, and protects us from stumbling. To Him be the glory forever! Amen.
PRAYER: “I give You praise, God, for who You are. Thank you for protecting us from falling.”
