READING: 1 Kings 6-7, John 4:46-54
I’m so grateful for the times when the Bible so clearly describes the power of God. We who are fallen people sometimes need assistance in comprehending the Word, and stories like this one are encouraging and faith-producing.
As Jesus encountered the man whose son was dying, Jesus’ response was undebatable: ““Go,” Jesus told him, “your son will live” (John 4:50). There must have been something unique about Jesus and His words, for the man believed what Jesus said. He made his way back home, believing he would see something mighty when he returned—and that he did!
He would learn from his servants that his boy got better at precisely the time Jesus had announced Hs healing. The man and his family then loved Jesus even more. Jesus had pronounced healing, and He had kept His Word.
You and I can trust everything Jesus has said to us as well.
PRAYER: “Jesus, I praise You for Your power and Your faithfulness.”
