READING: Psalms 60-66, Romans 11:11-12:8
Today I will be training outgoing cross-cultural workers who will be carrying the gospel around the globe. It’s an amazing privilege to train these folks, and I’m humbled by the opportunity. I may be the teacher in the room, but these folks will teach me about faith, trust, and godly courage.
Even more important, though, is the reminder of today’s Old Testament readings that we take the gospel to the ends of the earth because we want to see God’s glory extended over creation. We want all humanity to come to Him (Psa 65:2), recognizing Him as the “God of our salvation, the hope of all the ends of the earth and of the distant seas” (Psa 65:5). Our prayer is that the whole earth will shout joyfully to the Lord and sing His praises (Psa 66:1, 2, 4).
How will that happen? Followers of Christ will give their entire being to do the Great Commission among the nations. At the same time, though, they will not want the praise. Only He is awe-inspiring in all He does (Psa 66:5). To Him alone be the glory!
PRAYER: “God, ‘The whole earth will worship you and sing praise to you. They will sing praise to your name” (Psa 66:4).
DAILY ACTION STEP: Pray today for cross-cultural workers you know. If you don’t know anyone, ask one of your pastors to help you meet somebody who serves in this way.
