If you’re still wondering what your Bible reading plan will be in 2022, I want to invite you to join me. This next year, my plan is to read The Chronological Bible to vary the way I’ve read the Word the last few years. Each day, I will also write a brief devotion to accompany the reading, and I will include these things in the devotion:
- The text to read
- Thoughts about the truths of the text
- Application steps for the day
- A prayer to pray
- The text to read for the following day
I’ve been writing these devotions for several years now, and I honestly sometimes wonder if it’s worth the effort – but then God often does two things. First, He sends somebody to encourage me through a note, a phone call, a text, an email. Second, He reminds me that it’s good for me personally not only to read the Word daily, but also to take a few moments to reflect on and write about what I’ve read. I don’t know about you, but I need to slow down the process as I read the Word. Maybe that’s the case for you.
If you would like to subscribe to my daily devotions, you can do so by signing up on the lower right side of the home page on my website: www.chucklawless.com. If you would like to know my basic plan for studying the Word, I described it last year at this link.
Maybe these posts will also help you as you think about Bible reading in the new year:
Hi Dr. Lawless. Thanks again for providing these resources to me and our church. They ARE very valuable to us. I think I’m bugging you with the same question I had last year. Do you have a printable version of the chronological reading schedule for those in my congregation who don’t do email and other online stuff?
