Wednesday Words: Lawrence Kimbrough on the Cost of Christianity

Welcome to “Wednesday Words,” a weekly quote or insight I hope will encourage you in the midst of this chaotic world and provide you with a thought or illustration for preaching or teaching this week. Today’s quote is from Lawrence Kimbrough:

“If you were expecting the Christian life to be a pleasure trip, someone was guilty of false advertising. Being faithful to God and His Word will always come at a price. Sure, some will applaud your godly virtue, but you’ll have plenty of others to malign your character and question your motives. The reward of the righteous rarely comes from the crowd but always from Christ. And that’s reward enough.”
