07/17/22 Perfect Peace

READING: Isaiah 24:1-27:13, 29:1-24

God is the victor yesterday, today, and forever. He alone is Lord. He accomplishes with perfect faithfulness His every plan He put into motion long ago. He is our strength, our refuge, our shade from the heat (Isa 25:4). He has swallowed up death and will “wipe away the tears from every face” (Isa 25:8).

It’s no wonder, then, that we find perfect peace when we trust Him and depend on Him. When our mind is “stayed on him” (Isa 26:3, ESV), we find supernatural rest in Him. We can trust Him forever, in fact, because He himself is forever. He is not only our rock, but He is our everlasting one. Put all these thoughts together, and it’s easy to see why we find perfect peace in Him – no one is greater than He.

I don’t know about you, but there are days when I need this reminder about the peace He gives. When my heart doesn’t always automatically go there, I can return to His Word in today’s reading. In these truths I find my hope.

PERSONAL REFLECTION: Is your mind solidly focused on God today?

DAILY PRAYER: “Lord, grant me peace.”
