11/14/22 Sons, not Slaves

READING: Galatians 3:24-6:18, Acts 15:1-21

As we begin a new work week together, may the reading from God’s Word today guide us throughout the next days:

  • We who are the children of God are not to return to the thinking and the gods of our past; instead, we are to press forward in the freedom and faith Christ gives us.
  • Our lives are to be walking evidence of the Spirit in us, not of the flesh that still seeks to control us.
  • In that same sense, we are not to use our freedom in Christ to live life without restraints—we are to show the transforming power of the gospel through the righteous way we live in the power of God.
  • We must continually do well, loving our neighbor as ourselves, carrying one another’s burdens, and helping each other walk in godliness.
  • We are to remember that we are/have nothing worth bragging about; rather, we know God only because He has chosen to make Himself known to us. If we boast at all, let it be in the cross of Christ.

Where do you most need to focus this week as you seek to live out your position as a son or daughter of the most high God?

PERSONAL REFLECTION: How do you answer that last question?

DAILY PRAYER: “God, I praise You for making me Your child.”

TOMORROW’S READING: Acts 15:22-17:15
