READING: Joshua 18-21
Today, I need to cling to the promises of God—to be honest, because I’m struggling trusting God’s hand. I know better, but I find myself in the middle of a battle with the enemy who wants to discourage me. That’s why I’m so grateful for these verses today at the end of Joshua 21 (particularly the highlighted phrases):
“So the Lord gave Israel all the land he had sworn to give their ancestors, and they took possession of it and settled there. The Lord gave them rest on every side according to all he had sworn to their ancestors. None of their enemies were able to stand against them, for the Lord handed over all their enemies to them. None of the good promises the Lord had made to the house of Israel failed. Everything was fulfilled.” (Josh 21:43-45)
I’ll type the words again just for the encouragement. God gave all He had promised. He did all He had sworn. He defeated all the Hebrews’ enemies. Not a single promise He had made failed. He fulfilled everything He had said.
I needed these words today. How about you?
