03/30/23 Intersections

READING: Judges 21-Ruth 1-4

Today is a good day. On one hand, it’s my wife’s birthday. I’m excited to spend the day with her (and our puppy, Max) celebrating her life and our future. On the other hand, I’m privileged today to read an entire book of the Bible: Ruth. It’s just good to read an entire book in one setting.*

As I think today about how Pam and I met (we were fixed up by two church secretaries . . . ), I’m captured by how God worked out the details so Boaz and Ruth could meet. He divinely intersected their lives, cleared the way when another kinsman-redeemer chose not to carry out his duty, and gave Boaz and Ruth offspring. Neither could know at the time just how he would use their relationship to pave the way for a Redeemer to come.

It’s amazing how God connects us with others. He knows exactly what we need, who we need, why we need them, and when we need their presence in our lives. We can trust Him with our todays and our tomorrows.

PERSONAL REFLECTION: For what relationships do you need to thank the Lord today?

DAILY PRAYER: “God, thank You for divine intersections.”

TOMORROW’S READING: 1 Samuel 1-4
