Hear these words from Danny Akin, my president at Southeastern Seminary, about praying to God as Father–and be amazed at the privilege today.
Jesus says, “you should pray like this: Our Father in heaven…” The privilege to approach the Sovereign Lord of the Universe in such a manner should not be underestimated. . . . When we pray, we flee to the “Father in heaven,” the One who through faith in His Son, the Lord Jesus, has brought us into His family by adoption (Gal. 4:5-6). We can approach the great God now as “Our Father.” What a privilege we have, and one that we should never take for granted.
