07/12/23 He Loves Us Still

READING: Psalms 137-149

According to Psalm 139, the Lord knows us. Completely.

He knows us when we sit down or stand up. He knows our thoughts. He knows our travel and our rest. He knows our words before we ever speak them. He knows all our ways. He who knit us together in our mother’s womb knows us intimately, with no place for hiddenness or pretense.

It’s all far too magnificent for us to comprehend on our own, actually. The God of the Bible knows all about us. We hide nothing from Him, yet He loves us still. He is our God (Psa 140:6), our “strong Savior” (Psa 140:7), our rock (Psa 144:1), our “God the king” (Psa 145:1). It is right for us to praise Him with singing and shouting.

And, like the psalmist did, it is right for us to ask God to search our hearts and test us. We can do that in the confidence that He loves us.

PERSONAL REFLECTION: Are you filled with wonder over the majesty of God?

DAILY PRAYER: “God, lead me in the everlasting way.” (Psa 139:24)

TOMORROW’S READING: Psalm 150, Proverbs 1-7
