READING: Ezekiel 24-26
My point is short and simple today. Multiple times in today’s reading do we see the words, “the word of the Lord came to me” (e.g., Ezek 24:1). We don’t know the details of how that happened, but Ezekiel recognized the source of the word.
The Word of the Lord had come to him. God almighty had given him direction.
Today, billions of people in the world cannot yet say, “the Word of the Lord came to me.” Meanwhile, though, God did get His Word to us in some way. In my case, the Lord spoke His Word to me via a 12-year-old 7th grade classmate almost fifty years ago. Indeed, I could say that in August of 1974, “the word of the Lord came to me.”
How did the word of the Lord come to you in the first place? When did that happen? Throughout this day, I challenge you to remember when the word of the Lord captured you in the first place.
PERSONAL REFLECTION: What was your immediate response when you first heard the Word?
PRAYER: “Father, I praise You for your willingness to come to us.”
