12/02/23 Saturday Prayer Challenge

As I pray in an ongoing way for specific needs, I’ve found these words from Bryan Chapell to be helpful:

“We do not need to worry that our prayers may become too frequent or repetitive. God commands us to persist in prayer, and he provides us with accounts of those whose bold persistence he has blessed. When we pray in Jesus’ name, desiring his purposes and glory, we should not hesitate to pray again and again. The Father who listens loves his Son, delights to hear his voice in us, and revels in our spiritual battling for the glory of his name.

We cannot know the full power of prayer if we neglect or worry about persistence. Scripture plainly and repeatedly states that we should pray and pray and pray again. We should not grow impatient or become discouraged. We should never give up, fear offending, or hesitate simply because we have already prayed. Jesus commands repeated petitions. The Bible records them. God honors them.”
