Wednesday Words: Joseph Stowell on Shepherds in Rural, Smaller Settings

The book is an older one, and the words of Dr. Stowell are part of a larger discussion on pastoral perseverance, but I trust they may be encouraging to pastors in these settings today:

“Some of God’s most worthy shepherds have been relegated to small parishes in rural settings where they persevere unnoticed, unheralded, sometimes underpaid, and oftentimes underappreciated. But they faithfully stay at the task.”
