Two-year plan: Genesis 44:1-45:15, Matthew 14:1-12

———-

I’ll just let the Word speak for itself today.

  • “They made specially woven garments for ministry in the sanctuary . . . just as the Lord had commanded Moses.” (Exo 39:1)
  • “The artistically woven waistband that was on the ephod was . . .  just as the Lord had commanded Moses.” (Exo 39:5)
  • “He fastened them on the shoulder pieces of the ephod . . . just as the Lord had commanded Moses.” (Exo 39:7)
  • “They did just as the Lord had commanded Moses.” (Exo 39:21)
  • “They made it just as the Lord had commanded Moses.” (Exo 39:26)
  • “They did just as the Lord had commanded Moses.” (Exo 39:29)
  • “They attached a cord of blue yarn to it . . .  just as the Lord had commanded Moses.” (Exo 39:31)
  • “The Israelites did everything just as the Lord had commanded Moses.” (Exo 39:32)
  • “The Israelites had done all the work according to everything the Lord had commanded Moses. Moses inspected all the work they had accomplished. They had done just as the Lord commanded.” (Exo 39:42-43)
  • “Moses did everything just as the Lord had commanded him.” (Exo 40:16)
  • “Then he spread the tent over the tabernacle and put the covering of the tent on top of it, just as the Lord had commanded Moses.” (Exo 40:19)
  • “He brought the ark into the tabernacle, . . . just as the Lord had commanded him.” (Eox 40:21)
  • “He arranged the bread on it before the Lord, just as the Lord had commanded him.” (Exo 40:23)
  • “He put the lampstand in the tent of meeting . . . just as the Lord had commanded him.” (Exo 40:24-25)
  • “Moses installed the gold altar in the tent of meeting, in front of the curtain, and burned fragrant incense on it, just as the Lord had commanded him.” (Exo 40:26-27)
  • “He placed the altar of burnt offering at the entrance to the tabernacle, . . . just as the Lord had commanded him.” (Exo 40:28)
  • “They washed whenever they came to the tent of meeting and approached the altar, just as the Lord had commanded Moses.” (Exo 40:32)

I trust you see the repeated phrases of obedience in these texts. What amazes and burdens me is that I know they’re coming in these chapters (from reading the Scriptures annually)—but every year, I need to hear them again.

PERSONAL REFLECTION: Are you doing all God has commanded?

PRAYER: “God, forgive me when I’m not doing just as You commanded.”
