As I look back across almost 50 years of following Christ, I think about a few men whose walks with God have been so potent and so real that I longed to be more like them. I knew If I were more like they are, I would be more like Jesus. Some are now with the Lord, but I’m grateful most of them are still in my life.
One of those men is my colleague at Southeastern Seminary, Dr. Jim Shaddix. In fact, I’ve quoted his writings several times on “Wednesday Words” (see here and here) because I so trust him.
You may know that Dr. Shaddix has been dealing with brain cancer for several months now. If you know him at all, you won’t be surprised that he has remained as faithful, trusting, and humble as ever through this ordeal.
This past week, Dr. Danny Akin interviewed Dr. Shaddix in our seminary chapel. I encourage you to listen to this interview and be blessed by my colleague’s testimony of trust. You can find the interview about halfway down this webpage.
I assure you that you will not regret taking the time to listen.
