READING:
One-year plan: Job 20-22, Acts 21:26-22:21
Two-year plan: Judges 6, Luke 11:14-32
———-
It was a dramatic conversion, for sure. Paul was struck down by a bright light, and he then had an encounter with the Lord Jesus. His life, and ultimately the world, would never be the same after the persecutor became the preacher.
What catches my attention today, though, is the simplicity of these words of Paul’s testimony: “As I was traveling and approaching Damascus, about noon an intense light from heaven suddenly flashed around me” (Acts 22:6). Paul was on his way to persecute believers with the approval of the religious leaders, but God had other plans. Paul was approaching the city of Damascus, and everything was apparently going as planned—but God stepped in. God intervened and interrupted Paul’s plans.
Few conversions are as dramatic as Paul’s, but I am reminded today that God supernaturally and graciously interrupts all our sinful lives when He sends His Spirit to convict us. Our lives are then never the same when God changes our hearts.
PERSONAL REFLECTION: How did God catch your attention when He called You to Himself?
DAILY PRAYER: “God, I praise You for Your intervening grace.”
