In yesterday’s devotion, we read of Paul proclaiming Jesus “from dawn to dusk” even while under house arrest. Paul’s love for Christ was such that he did not miss an opportunity to talk about Him.
In today’s Old Testament reading, we read a similar passage from the psalmist—though the focus is on God’s instruction. The psalmist knew he must walk in the way of the righteous, and he also recognized the right step in that direction: delight in the Lord’s word, and meditate on it “day and night” (Psa 1:2).
Day and night. Without ceasing. Focused and undistracted. Lingering in the Lord’s instruction. Clinging to His truths. When that’s our focus, what the world offers pales in comparison. This day, I challenge you to meditate on Psalm 1 throughout the day—and tell the gospel story from dawn to dusk.
PERSONAL REFLECTION: Do you typically meditate on the Word day and night?
DAILY PRAYER: ““God, give me this kind of focus today.”
