Today’s one of those days when simply reading the Word brings me hope and encouragement. Particularly, I’m grateful for the psalmist’s understanding of who God is:
- “The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer, my God, my rock where I seek refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.” (Psa 18:2)
- “He is a shield to all who take refuge in him.” (Psa 18:30)
- “For who is God besides the Lord? And who is a rock? Only our God.” (Psa 18:31)
- “The Lord lives—blessed be my rock! The God of my salvation is exalted.” (Psa 18:46)
God is my rock. He is my foundation, my shield, my refuge. He is my protection. When I remember these simple truths—and the Word today helps me do that—I know that I can handle anything in His strength. Blessed be my rock, indeed!
PERSONAL REFLECTION: Is God your rock?
