09/02/24 Exalt Him

READING:

One-year plan: Psalms 95-101, 1 Corinthians 5-6

Two-year plan: 1 Samuel 20-21, Luke 20:27-40

———-

  • Shout joyfully to the Lord.
  • Shout triumphantly to Him in song.
  • Come, let us worship and bow down.
  • Sing a new song to the Lord.
  • Declare His glory among the nations.
  • Ascribe to the Lord the glory of His name.
  • Worship the Lord in the splendor of His holiness.
  • Let the earth rejoice.
  • Let the whole earth shout to the Lord.
  • Exalt the Lord.
  • Come before Him with joyful songs.
  • Sing praise to Him.

This list doesn’t capture all the praise elements of today’s Old Testament reading, but it does give you a taste of the psalmist’s desire to praise God. We who are God’s children must honor Him with all our being. He is, after all, good, and “his faithful love endures forever” (Psa 100:5)

PERSONAL REFLECTION: Does your life exalt God?

DAILY PRAYER: “God, help me to sing Your praises today.”

TOMORROW’S READINGS:

One-year plan: Psalms 102-104, 1 Corinthians 7:1-24

Two-year plan: 1 Samuel 22-23, Luke 20:41-21:6
