———

Today’s one of those days where the Word simply brings me to tears. Every time I preach, I seek to point everyone to Jesus, the One who died in our place and forgives our sins. I want everyone to know that salvation and freedom are available; bondage to sin and death is no longer necessary. I do believe these truths.

Nevertheless, the words of the psalmist in today’s reading still melt my heart. God forgives all my iniquity (Psa 103:3). He has not dealt with me as my sins deserve (Psa 103:10). He has removed my sin from me as far as the east is from the west (Psa 103:12). He has fatherly compassion on me (Psa 103:13).  The One who “established the earth on its foundation” (Psa 103:5) loves me from eternity to eternity (Psa 103:17).

Do you see why the tears flow today? It’s just amazing how much grace the Lord has given me. All I can say, then, is what the psalmist said: “Bless the Lord!”
