———-
It’s a simple question the psalmist asked as he considered his God: “Who is like the Lord our God, the One who sits enthroned on high, who stoops down to look on the heavens and the earth?” (Psa 113:5-6).
Who creates like He creates? Who offers mercy like He does? Who speaks, and nature obeys? Who can forgive sin like He does? Who else has stooped down from heaven to bring us salvation like He has? Who can transform lives like He can? Who has defeated death like He has? Who . . .?”
The answer, of course, is simple: “no one” — and that’s because He alone is God. We kneel before Him in wonder, and we ignore Him at our peril. We are thus right to conclude this devotion with the same concluding words of Psalm 113: “Praise the Lord!”
PERSONAL REFLECTION: How long has it been since you’ve meditated on the greatness of God?
