———-
I can hear the singing now as the people of God gathered to worship: “His faithful love endures forever!” All Israel joined in the song. The house of Aaron added their voices. All those who lived in fearful respect of God sang, too. Perhaps singing antiphonally, they lifted their voices – and the psalmist emphasized that point by both opening and closing Psalm 118 with these same words.
God’s love is indeed faithful. He loves us even when we are unlovable, and He always keeps His Word to us. He is much more faithful to us than we are to Him.
In fact, his faithful love endures forever. His lovingkindness is without end. His covenant commitment to His people just keeps going. We, too, have reason to sing.
PERSONAL REFLECTION: Are you singing today of God’s faithfulness to you?
DAILY PRAYER: “Lord, You are good! Amen.”
