———
Our state was once a most desperate one apart from a relationship with Jesus. We were living in the domain of darkness, blinded by the god of this age (2 Cor 4:3-4). We were hopeless, lost, directionless, and destined for hell. Nothing we could do would fix this problem.
If you’re a follower of Jesus, though, everything’s changed. We live in the light of Christ. We have hope, direction, and purpose. We are destined for heaven—an eternity with God. Human words cannot adequately express the transformation that marks our lives as believers today.
What’s the difference? Paul answers that question with these words: “He has rescued us from the domain of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of the Son He loves” (Col 1:13). Because of Christ, we have been forgiven. We have been redeemed. We have been transferred.
All because of Christ. Amen.
PERSONAL REFLECTION: When is the last time you thanked God for His willingness to rescue you?
DAILY PRAYER: “God, thank You for transferring me to the kingdom of Your Son.”
