A Word of Encouragement about Prayer and Spiritual Warfare

My friend and co-writer of our book, Victory over the Enemy, makes this important point about prayer and spiritual warfare we should consider today:

Satan would rather have us do almost anything other than pray (like trying to solve a problem in our own strength). The devil does not want us interceding for our family, praying for God’s spiritual blessings on our friends, or asking God’s Spirit to empower our church’s evangelistic efforts. Prayer calls upon the Lord and depends upon him as our Mighty Warrior (Isa 42:13; cf. Exod 15:3; Ps 24:8; Isa 40:10; Rev 19:11). If we are to defeat the enemy of our souls, we must become people of prayer.
