READING:
One-year plan: 1 Chronicles 26-29
Two-year plan: Psalms 106, 1 Corinthians 8
———-
Today is one of those days where simply reading the Word can drive you to your knees in worship of the one true God. Mediation on the Word is in order when you read texts like the beginning parts of David’s prayer in today’s reading:
“Yours, Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the splendor and the majesty, for everything in the heavens and on earth belongs to you. Yours, Lord, is the kingdom, and you are exalted as head over all. Riches and honor come from you, and you are the ruler of everything. Power and might are in your hand, and it is in your hand to make great and to give strength to all. Now therefore, our God, we give you thanks and praise your glorious name.” (1 Chron 29:11-13)
There is so much here to consider. We hear words echoed in the Lord’s prayer in the first part of this text. God is great. He owns everything. He rules over all. Nevertheless, He gives graciously to His people –and all we can do is give Him thanks. He is worthy of our praise.
So, just praise Him now with humility and gratitude.
PERSONAL REFLECTION: Do you live with a spirit of worship and gratitude?
PRAYER: “Father, You alone are worthy of our praise. Amen.”
