Today, I’m inviting pastors and church leaders to check out the Center for Preaching and Pastoral Leadership, a center I’m privileged to lead at Southeastern Seminary. The purpose of the CPPL is the equip and encourage pastors, and we offer a lot of benefits for leaders:
- A weekly podcast called “Pastor Matters”
- Several weekly articles and blog posts for church leaders
- A weekly newsletter that includes a devotion from me, a recommended resource of the week, a “Consultant’s Corner” Q&A, and a “Preaching Pointer”
- An annual “Engaging Exposition Preaching Conference“ on the campus of SEBTS (this year’s conference is September 15-16, with guest preachers Danny Akin, James Merritt, Stephen Rummage, and Robert Smith and breakout session with SEBTS faculty members)
- An annual “Christ-Centered Exposition” workshop to study preaching through a particular book of the Bible (the next workshop is March 12, 2026, with David Platt leading through the Gospel of Matthew)
- Monthly equipping lunches for leaders within driving distance of SEBTS
- Free resources to participants in our conferences and workshops
- Oversight of our SEBTS “Timothy Scholars” program–a 5 year BA/MDiv degree program for students preparing for the pastorate
I encourage you to check out the Center’s website here, and sign up for the newsletter and register for events that interest you. More than that, however, would you please say a prayer for our Center’s work?
