The New Testament church really is an amazing organism. Somehow, God takes people from different backgrounds, different cultures, different ethnicities, different economic statuses, different educations, etc., and makes them one as brothers and sisters. Then, He uses each one based on the giftedness He has given each of us according to His plan and for His glory. Some of us are feet, others are ears, and all of us have some particular role to play—which means that all of us matter.
Even those of us who feel insignificant matter to God. Indeed, Paul wrote that God gives attention to the weaker parts of the body so that all of us fit together exactly as He intended. We work together, show concern to each other, share one another’s burdens, and rejoice with each other’s victories. There truly is nothing like God’s church when it’s functioning as it should. It’s both miraculous and beautiful.
And, all of us who are believers get to be a part of it. That’s amazing.
PERSONAL REFLECTION: Are you amazed by your opportunity to be part of God’s church?
PRAYER: “God, thank You for Your local body of believers who are my family.”
