3 Books that Reflect My Passions (including a free one!)

I apologize in advance for writing about my own books, but I become more passionate about the urgency of their topics as I get older. Many, if not most, churches in the United States have lost their Great Commission focus wrapped around making disciples and covered in prayer. I hope one of these new books will help you think about these issues for your church (and, the first one’s free at Thom Rainer’s Church Answers)

If you’re a faithful reader of these blog posts, you’ll recognize some of them in these resources:

  1. Lord, I’m Caught in the Bubble! I wrote this simple e-book out of my personal concern that I too easily get cocooned in the Christian world. The Lord has over the last year or so increasingly burdened me and pushed me out into the lives of non-believers. Maybe He will do the same for you. Again, you can get this book free at this link at Church Answers
  2. The Potential and Power of Prayer. I’m especially burdened that we’re trying to fix things in unhealthy churches without really being leaders and people of prayer. Human efforts alone won’t do what needs to happen; genuine, heartfelt, deeply-committed prayer must cover it all.
  3. DiscipleI wish someone had intentionally discipled me more intentionally when I was a young believer, and I wish even more I had been a better pastoral leader in guiding my churches to make disciples. This book is not a fix-it book, though. It’s designed to be a brief starter—first steps toward making a difference.

May I ask you to pray for me particularly? I don’t want to produce resources without a heart and life that validate their message. Thank you, friends, for your willingness to read my thoughts!
