11/10/23 Who is He?

READING: John 9-11

“Who is he, Sir, that I may believe in him?” (John 9:36).

That was the question the man healed from blindness asked when Jesus asked him if he believed in the Son of Man. The healed man was ready to believe, but he didn’t yet know who Jesus was. All Jesus had to say was, “You’re speaking to the Son of Man,” and the man believed and worshiped.

Today, on my heart are the people around the world who might well ask, “Who is he, that I might believe in Him?”—but who have not had the privilege of learning about Jesus. Their hearts and minds are turned toward matters of eternity, but they haven’t yet heard who God is or what they must do to follow Him.

Our responsibility is to get the answers to them. After all, “how can they believe without hearing about him? And how can they hear without a preacher?” (Rom 10:14).

PERSONAL REFLECTION: Who in your life still needs to know about Jesus?

PRAYER: “Thank You, Lord, for opening our eyes.”

MONDAY’S READING: John 12-15
